Roadbikes, stronger than they appear. KARMA.

Remember that once when I was making fun of my sister- and then 2 hours later nearly killed myself on my blasted bike. I do. It was yesterday. (I apologize for not having photo documentation)

Chronologically:
7 PM- after learning how to properly operate my new clip in bike shoes, (that should have been my first hesitation- I HAVE NO COORDINATION) Scott and I leave for a leisurely ride.

7:15 PM- Ride going well, mostly because in my head I'm in the Tour de France and am 20 minutes ahead of Lance

8 PM- Randomly run into a high school friend
8:01 PM- I tell him not to watch me as I am still a novice with the clip pedals

8:15 PM- Arrive at a set of railroad tracks, tire gets caught, I am sprung from my shoes that are clenched to my pedals, plop right on my left cheek/lower back onto a moderately busy road, skid across said road (first thought- I hope they don't have to amputate a leg) (second thought- I could blog about this)
8:15 and 7 seconds- I look up only to see Scott heading straight for me (collision #2)

8:20 Pm- A stranger picks us up and drives us clear back home

My condition:
----Scrapes on elbow and knee (left of course, that's the faulty of my 2 sides- ie- 2 elbow surgeries, 3 knee surgeries, and 11 stitches in my hand)
----Shooting pains down my spine and booty (XRays to come tomorrow)

My brand new (could have bought a bundle of jeans with for the same price and less pain) bike:
----Scratched brakes
----Bent handlebars
----Bent wheel

What this experience has taught me:
I need a new hobby. My mom thinks I should ride in a suit of armor. Always hit rail-road tracks perpendicularly. Buy the spandex Capri's not shorts, can save you from a lot of road rash. I miss my training wheels. I actually like the bathtub in my bathroom (first time it has been used was last night)

oh my gosh that sounds incredibly painful!!!! You should definately get some training wheels on that bike, do they make road bike training wheels? If not you should invent them for the timid bike riders like ourselves!!! I would buy them for sure!! I hope you aren't broken and good thing for that nice guy who came upon the ugly scene!!

SO fitting! I would be the frist person to tell you Bad Idea! But you didn't ask me. Remember when we would go to spinning and you would make up outfits that you would wear in your head while you were riding?? I DO! You always wore yellow for some reason???

You poor little dear. It sounds like you need a nurse to help you get better. That is pretty scary. I hope you were wearing a helmet.

Oh, Josh was for Jeffery all the way, and I liked him in the beginning. But Melissa was what I want to become with my cooking. A home cook that is amazing without going through all the cooking school stuff. Jeffery could cook for me anytime of the day.

WOW! I didn't know that I was only a matter of minutes from witnessing one of the greatest happenings of the day. Glad you're ok, and that there are still kind strangers in the world who would pick you up :)
